Once a unit is listed on Wholesale Whale, its status is tracked and updated automatically based on time, activity, and DMS data (if synced). You can manage listings, track offer activity, and perform listing actions from the My Listings page.

🟢 Listing Status

As wholesale units are listed, their status updates dynamically based on actions taken by buyers and sellers. A unit's current status determines what actions are available for that listing.

Listed

  • Unit is live on the Wholesale Market

  • Accepting offers from other dealers

  • If manually listed or uploaded via file, it will expire in 7 days

Expired

  • Unit has been live but the 7-day window has elapsed (for non-synced inventory)

  • Still viewable for 3 days, but cannot receive new offers

  • You may relist it during this window

Unlisted

  • Unit is not visible on the marketplace

  • Offers on this unit are automatically closed

  • Only appears in your dashboard

Connecting

  • The seller wants to connect with the buyer regarding their submitted offer

  • The listing can still receive offers and is visible on the marketplace in this status

  • The seller cannot invite other buyers to connect until they either cancel the connection invite or close the connection once it's established

Connected

  • Triggered when a buyer and seller connect on a unit

  • Listing is visible, but editing/unlisting is locked

  • Offer window countdown (if any) is paused

  • Only one open connection allowed per unit

  • Connection must be closed before taking new actions on that listing

⚙️ Listing Actions

From any of your listed units, you can:

  • Edit the listing

  • Unlist it to hide it from the market

  • Relist expired units (only available during 3-day grace window)

  • Print Overview to generate a deal summary PDF

  • Close Connection (if active)

💎 Listing Standards Matter

Wholesale Whale is a wholesale marketplace, not a retail classifieds site. All listed units are expected to be available for wholesale purchase and accurately represented.

This is a peer-to-peer environment for licensed professionals.

Platform Expectations

  • Listings must be real, available, and intended to move at wholesale

  • Consistently ignoring offers, using the platform to “advertise” inventory, or listing units not truly for sale may result in peer penalties

Peer Accountability

  • After each connection, dealers can submit private ratings (communication, professionalism, etc.)

  • If you encounter fake or misleading listings, you'll have the opportunity to report that behavior through the close connection survey

  • Repeated abuse will affect a dealership’s visibility, connection trust, and credibility across the platform

❓ FAQs

What happens when a listing expires?

  • It becomes invisible to buyers, but you have a 3-day window to relist it manually before it's marked unlisted.

Can I edit a listing after it's connected?

  • No. Listing actions are locked until the connection is closed.

How many listings can I have?

  • There’s no limit. You can list as many units as your subscription and inventory allows.
